Afghanite belongs to the cancrinite group of minerals, and as such very often accompanies lapis lazuli. It is very rarely found in transparent or at least translucent form. This offered afghanite is transparent (!!) and contains numerous plumes. It comes from the Sar-e-Sang locality, in the Kokcha valley in Badakhshan (Afghanistan). This stone is suitable for collection only.
