Hackmanite 0.83 ct

Extremely rare, purple hackmanite. Hackmanites in general are quite rare gemstones, on various markets they can be bought up to about one carat. The Na8(Al6Si6O24)Cl2 hackmanites are from the sodalite group and were first found in 1811 at the Ilimaussaq site in Greenland; hackmanites are also found at the Pein Gyi mine in Mogok, Burma (Myanmar). The offered piece comes from the Kokcha Valley, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. The size of the offered stone is 7,61 x 4,60 mm.
