Lazulite (Na,Ca)8(AlSiO4)6(SO4,S,Cl)2 belongs to the group of foids. Mineralogically, it is a tectosilicate and a member of the sodalite group. Lazulite is the main component of the rock lapis lazuli, in which it contributes 25 to 40 % of its composition. The piece we offer is a completely pure and perfectly transparent sapphire blue lazulite (!!); these stones are extremely rare. This lazulite is only suitable for the collection of very demanding gemstone collectors; it comes from the Dattas locality in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
