Montebrasite (Li,Na)Al(PO4)(F,OH) is a ternary mineral, a basic lithium-aluminum phosphate of the amblygonite series. It is rarely found in crystals that can be polished. It has recently been discovered that most amblygonite samples correspond chemically to montebrasite; so if you have amblygonite in your collection, it is possible that it is in fact montebrasite. The offered piece comes from the Taquaral locality, Itinga, Jequitinhonha Valley in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The size of the stone is 12,06 x 12,23 mm.
