Adular is a type of feldspar (it is a solid solution of K-feldspar &#8211; orthoclase with an admixture of albite &#8211; plagioclase). The chemical formula is (K,Na)AlSi3O8. The name was introduced in 1780 by Ermenegildo Pini after a locality in the Adulagebirge Alpine mountain range (part of the Gotthard massif) in Switzerland.
